The Transportation Planning Symposium brings planning professionals together to explore what’s changing in Ontario and beyond — and what’s actually working on the ground. It’s built for people who need practical, defensible approaches to mobility planning, policy, and implementation, and who value hearing directly from municipalities, consultants, and industry leaders tackling the same challenges you are.

This year’s program blends long-range vision with real-world application — from MMLOS guideline implementation, to complete streets and sustainable mobility planning, to traffic calming and speed management strategies that must function within political, operational, and community constraints. With dedicated networking breaks, a shared lunch, and time set aside for peer connection, the day is intentionally designed to support both learning and meaningful professional exchange.

A key feature of the afternoon is the Transportation Planning Project of the Year Award presentations, where leading projects are showcased and recognized. This session offers valuable insight into how strong planning ideas are translated into implementable outcomes — and gives participants the opportunity to engage directly with the work shaping communities across Ontario.
